Terms of Service

Effective October 19, 2026

These terms cover the official DnDGPT hosted service, maintained by Deon Holo. By using that service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not connect to or use the hosted service. Open-source copies and third-party platforms have their own terms.

The service

DnDGPT is an independent homebrew fantasy RPG project. It connects a saved campaign dashboard and game tools to ChatGPT. It is not an official Dungeons & Dragons, Wizards of the Coast, OpenAI, or Google product, and it is not currently listed in ChatGPT's public directory.

DnDGPT is offered without a DnDGPT subscription fee. Availability, connection support, and usage limits depend in part on ChatGPT and other service providers. Their terms apply separately. No paid model API key is required to use the official hosted connection.

Your account and content

Use an account you are authorized to access. Keep credentials private, respect other players' data, and do not attempt to bypass authentication or disrupt the service. Google and email accounts are not automatically linked.

You retain whatever rights you have in the content you submit. You allow DnDGPT and its service providers to process and store that content as needed to provide the campaign features you request, as described in the Privacy Policy. Submit only material you have the right to use.

Saved progress and availability

The dashboard reflects saved tool updates. A narrated action is not necessarily saved, and generated content or rule interpretations can contain mistakes. Review important choices and ask the GM to save progress.

The service is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted operation or permanent storage. Features may change or the hosted service may stop. Keep your own copy of information you want to preserve. Access may be restricted to address abuse or protect the service.

Licenses and responsibility

Application source code is available under the MIT License. Original rulebook and documentation licensing is described in LICENSE-CONTENT.md. Third-party artwork retains its own terms and credits. These hosted-service terms do not replace those licenses or grant rights in third-party brands.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the hosted service is provided without warranties, and the maintainer is not liable for losses arising from its use or unavailability. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Leaving and getting help

You can stop using DnDGPT, disconnect it in ChatGPT, and delete individual campaigns using Delete campaign… in the dashboard. The Privacy Policy explains what deletion removes or retains.

Questions can be raised through the project support page. Do not post private account details or credentials publicly. Changes to these terms will be published here with an updated effective date.
